I am working with a long time marble collector (over 40 yrs) to sell his huge collection of marbles over the next several weeks. I purchased this marble (among many others soon to be listed) from a true “hoarders” auction.  After he passed away, his estate was brought to auction and included hundreds of awesome, true antique items.  He obviously had a fondness for marbles because he had thousands for sale.  People attending this auction numbered in the hundreds which made it difficult to win a bid….especially on the antique marbles.  I was able to obtain three large jars of the marbles and will list them all this week.  But, for now, I am offering this most unusual marble.  I know nothing about marbles but my research leads me to believe that this is an especially wonderful, hand-made marble from the late 1800s and possibly made by Samuel C. Dyke. He first made brown and blue clay marbles, then later offered agates or “aggies”.  However, I cannot be 100% certain of maker of this marble but I clearly know that it is something very unusual and special in the world of marbles.  Because it is hand-made, it is not perfectly round.  We measured it with a digital fractional calibrator and found that it ranges in size from 31.75mm to 34.44mm.Buyer to pay for shipping and I will ship using any method the buyer would like.  Please contact me with any questions you may have….and don’t forget to look for my additional listings in this category!

This is a beautiful Mike Edmondson 3/4″ red, yellow, and blue swirled glass marble. It is signed ME and dated 01. It is in good condition with no damage. For you serious marble collectors theres no need to read on, you already know what your looking at. For those of you who dont know, this is a marble  made by the Noble Effort team of Ro Purser and Richard Marquis back in 1983, not too long after the very start of the contemporary art glass marble movement. Ro and Richard are credited with starting the modern contemporary art glass marble movement around 1975 when they made some German cane-style marbles at a Ren Fair. Ro’s spheres are very personal works of art, each one totally unique. This obviously leads to very low production numbers [some of his spheres take two weeks to make]. This marble measures approximately 2 & 5/16 inches in diameter. This marble, like all my other marbles, unless noted otherwise is in perfect condition with no dings, dents, chips or cracks, so please bid with confidence. This is one beautiful marble and it would look great in any collection. I guarantee shipping within forty eight hours (usually next day) after receiving payment.
