5/8″ Akro Agate Four-Color Snake/Popeye Corkscrew Item# GM0779
I guess I’m being a little too technical with the title, but possibly with reason. The marble obviously fits in with any Popeye collection, but with some of the hard-case Popeye collectors I’ve met over the years, this one doesn’t qualify as a Popeye because the white is just a solid corkscrew, there are no white wispy strands. So, then what we have here, is a snake, which is clear based with corkscrew(s) on and just below the surface. This marble has a crystal clear base glass with surrounding surface corkscrews of red, and white, along with yellow ridden by a thin contrasting line of amber/brown – A four-color snake! CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.6 There is a bright and shiny surface and looks great in hand, but close inspection shows a coverage of microscopic pinpricking and wear. Everything is clearly visible in the pictures. please bear in mind how large these pictures are. They magnify everything several-fold. You may click here to view the grading system I use.
